Subwoofer Box Connections

Post by BillM »

I just got a pre fab box from Sonic, its nice quality and it matches my trunk carpet perfect. I have a couple questions. I hit the corners again as they did not seem to be heavily caulked so I did them again. Everything else was very nice. I caulked up the one terminal heavily as its not going to be used and drilled a small hole into the middle panel to run wire from one sub to the other and then caulked that heavy as well. I am going to stuff it with poly fill and need to shave the holes a touch for my subs to fit. I am going to use the other terminal so I was wondering which is the best way to connect the sub wire to the terminal? Strictly solder the wire on it or run a speaker clip and then solder the clip to the terminal? Thanks guys I appreciate it.

If you're planning on soldering them on whether you use a spade terminal or not just solder them direct to the terminals themselves and save the extra step of crimping them to a clip first.
