I think if you look on the back you will see a potentiometer that allows you to tune the voltage reading more accuratly. Mine was off by .5 of a volt before I adjusted it by using my meter to check it out. If you look on the top portion, beside the led you will see it.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

are you sure the crossovers werent engaged, and turned way down- if you got these from dvnt, these were running my cyclones, so if your running regular speakers off of them the crossover points are so low, they may have little or no output that you can hear

Re: xenon RMD questions and a big problem...
Are you saying that you hooked up the rmd to a battery charger directly with no battery? If yes, then that is probably why it is reading high. The battery charger is looking for some feedback from a battery and will up the voltage thinking the battery that is not there is really low on charge. You need to test the rmd with a battery or a power supply, not a battery charger alone.

so than the rmd are working fine if that the case oldschoololdschoolfan wrote:Are you saying that you hooked up the rmd to a battery charger directly with no battery? I thought someone just had an amp for sale from the f and f sale that was advertised as having a bad channel, the way he got it. I have had NIB amps that would not work anything is possible...

Re: xenon RMD questions and a big problem...
just to put it out there, i sold them to him, they were from errin's stash. i should have tested them before i shipped. and errin probably should have tested them before he dropped them off for me to ship. we didnt think to since they were both essentially "better" then new as we watched valiks testing xenon amps and boxing them up DURING the sale
we will make sure he doesnt get hosed on the deal. the only that throws me is the same symptoms on both amps?
maybe try the "oxidation" trick by clicking in the crossover defeat button a couple times on both crossovers just in case there is some kind of buildup?
between the 2 of us, we will get you squared away man.

Re: xenon RMD questions and a big problem...
have you tried hooking up a meter and tuning them with the pot on the back? I think it is the pot that causes these drifts as it is effected by pressure, temp, humidity and probably have not been tuned for a couple of years....

Re: xenon RMD questions and a big problem...
Hi means the voltage is too high (over ~15v). The pot on the back controls the voltage sensitivity, so you need to hook up a multimeter at the amp power inputs, then turn that dial until you get the matching voltage from the RMD.kg1961 wrote:guys i bought 2 black rmd's so i plugging them in they start with 3 little red light on the screen than it read hi

tried it on both turning it up and down on all dials same with the xovers still not a pop or noise.
im sure the rmds work. i know what your saying bfowler but the x200.2 works zero problem
all is good i know we will get it fixed or changed. just glad i didn't sell them or it around install date. i have time to deal with this.
i was just asking if anyone had these problems and a easy fix i can do. i will be pulling my gel cell out of the car to test these amp and rmds i might get it out today but it very cold out minus 15 right now so we will see.
i will update later today if i get the car batt. out

Battery charger is almost never a good power supply. They can put out unrectified AC or pulsed DC. Horrible stuff for your amp... I'm surprised you didn't break them! When you said you were testing with your battery charger I thought it was just the RMDs, not the amps! Considering the RMDs were reading high, the amps probably went into protection.
Re: xenon RMD questions and a big problem...--all ok sorry
12.1 is a low resting voltage....
get it charged up
