Mom bought this new as a DD for work when I was 12. Learned to drive in parking lots at 14 in it, and was given the keys at 16. Dad wanted to mod it some as a father-son project. We started with heads/cam/exhaust, RRs, intake manifold etc etc... it ran decent but was sorta sluggish with the AOD and 3.27s. Dad ordered a transmission and stall for it and it was a lot more fun... would go sideways on the 1-2 shift. Sent it to John Griggs and had them "fix" the suspension and brakes... swapped for a Tremec a year or two later when we got tired of repairind the AODs (kept melting gears). then ended up with a S trim, blew the hg's off the stock 302, fixed that, swapped cams, then a lifter blew up, lost a cylinder and hydralocked... called up Keith Craft, specced an Aluminum Dart 351 short stroke 4.145x3.25, changed heads, cam, and intake, swapped for a YSi, FAST XFi, fuel system etc, had car painted while the motor was being built, and then it sat pretty much undriven... for 9 years.... These pictures are after washing it for the first time since it was painted in May 2003.
Anyway, thought I would share. Car is part of the family and I am proud of it even if it is just a Mustang Convertible. Should get it on the dyno in a week or two, made 599/580rw at 12 psi with blown cat converters back in 03-4ish sometime, had converters cut out before it pretty much sat in storage for 5 years straight. Just glad it seems to run with no problems. Hoping to max the A1K out on it around 680-720 rw. Weldon 2345 and Magnum 6 speed are next on the plans if my dad doesn't decide to sell it back to me, which it will end up with left overs out of my 86 when I upgrade it. Should hopefully crack 900 (hopefully 1KRW) in the next year or two if all goes well.
Trunk isn't finished out, but stereo consists of the speakers u see, 4 TN45s in the dash in the stock grills, 2 angled at the driver, 2 at the glass at 90 degree angles... another set of 5.38" Focals like the top of the door and TN45s in the back seats stock local, 12W7 in a custom floorwell/1" mdf and glass box powered by a ZPA .5, the bottom door speakers which are 6.8s are powered by a ZPA .3 from 70-300 hz, and the other 2 sets of 5.38s are running in parralel with the 6 tweeters off another ZPA .3 from 300+ hz through the passives... yes its all wired with the helical blue/silver speaker wire, even to the tweeters... I think we have about 180 feet of it in the car. 1/0 blue wire to match the car for power, and 1/0 silver for ground... 15 farad powercore, Clarion DRX 9255 with changer hooked up optical, and a AX406A, and I have a EQ232 to install too, all black to match the amps.

Re: My first car, 22 years later and lots of mods...
paint on top is factory which was only made 2 yrs. Bottom is a custom platinum mix, it used to be titanium which was sorta goldish brown, and I forgot how ugly it was when we had it re-painted so I had the bottom lightened up. Came out pretty nice imo. Top and interior are original colored... Front seats are supposed to be white leather though.ttocs wrote:love fox's. Nice color combination too.

I think I have the same or at least similar caster/camber plates. That motor is what mine hopes to grow into. I have a power pipe already and would love to throw a turbo on it....

Re: My first car, 22 years later and lots of mods...
Max Motorsports makes great CC plates, prob what you have as they are the best for a fox body. The motor costs about 20 grand, without the fuel system or supercharger...ttocs wrote:I think I have the same or at least similar caster/camber plates. That motor is what mine hopes to grow into. Its rated for 1200 bhp. Its the largest street blower Vortech makes. Renegade guys have been low 8s with it in the qtr @ near 170 mph... its similar to a F1 Procharger...ajaye wrote:fixedttocs wrote:love forced induction fox's. Nice color combination too.

man that's a kinda low (relatively speaking) trap for that quick...I imagine it feels like one of those aircraft carrier catapults that shoot the fighter jets for take off coming out of the hole.STROKD wrote: low 8s with it in the qtr @ near 170 mph...
freaking nice car man, need to say it again. A single turbo Fox has always been on my short list to build one of these days...no time soon though. Finally got my license reinstated this week and I'm staying in a hoopty until some of these points drop off so I'll keep living vicariously through guys like you on the internet. Especially you two jerks in Texas and Arizona that can actually drive your cars all year AND have it stay this nice. Propers.
