Ideas on integrating a sub into my factory system.

Post by Golddigger »

I've never been a fan of adding to a factory system but I just picked up a Buick regal GS with the Harmon kardon system in it and overall the sound quality is fairly decent. I'm considering adding a single sub possibly a jl micro sub and an sd300.1 to correct for the lack of low end. My question to anyone kind enough to chime in is what would be the best option to go about it? Any and all ideas are welcome, thanks in advance Ken.

try to find somewhere the rear speaker cables and take the signal from there.

use a high to low convertor to feed the signal to the amp..

if you don't find anywhere a remote connection. try to find somewhere the 12V of the ignition key.....

it is a little bid of work to find everything but at the end it will be an upgrade for sure.

I personally hate those modern factory systems........

I'm not a fan of the fact that I can't change the head unit either but it does seem to work well and has navigation and good features so hopefully it won't be too bad. That will probably be the route I go at the moment but honestly I was looking to see if anyone had a recommendation for a processor that could handle signal duties possibly. I will eventually change all the speakers and amplification but for now a sub would do wonders.

i am guessing you are looking for something like an audison bit one processor who has high level inputs.....

you were asking for only integrating a sub into the factory system....

the processor is another step of course.....

I would check out first if you can work with the factory headunit to the processor before you start to

take out part of the system or cutting cables.......

good luck.....
