I dug into this failure the last two days and thought that the amp was a total writeoff but have learned that the damage wasn´t as bad as it looked.
I managed to repair it since i found a set of new railcaps from a MS2250TA in my well organized (sarcasm here) basement. I was even able to straighten the and clean the plexi again.
I´ll give it a try and hook the amp up this week and check if it´s working again.

Believe it or not but the amp works flawlessly again! I´m glad i don´t have to start looking for another one to take apart now.
