phoenix gold RMD

hey all, ive just aquired a phoenix gold RMD second hand, who ever had it before me has cut the plug off the amplifier end, and only used the red and black wires, what are the 2 spare wires for? it seems to work as normal, but jsut curious as to why theres 2 spare wires? what do they do

i dont understand why there is 2 sets of positive n grounds, ive seen that picture before, n thanks, but im jsut curious as to why there are 2 spare wires not being used

they are being used, just as a redundency.

they phone cable was just a cheap and effective wire to use with the set. and it happended to be a 4 conductor wire, so they just used 2 for + and 2 for -
