Hyundai seem to make their living out of cloning other people's cars and making them thousands of dollars cheaper, built as well with lovely big long warranties.

The RD1 and RD2 Tiburons were the only cars they designed from 'scratch' and they didnt even do it, they left that up to Porsche and Pinifarina

Once they had a body and chassis they just stripped an elantra and hey presto ! the Tiburon (Coupe) was born.

But even their flagship car (the one that was built to take on the 7 series bimmer) is a wonderful car, high 20's ($) so about 1/3 less than the bimmer and really not that far off when it comes to luxuries.

And their new SUV (the one being compared to a land rover) has one less cup holder.. In honesty I could bet my bum that the Hyundai would be more reliable and alot cheaper to fix than the LR, it's faster and safer too.

I have said it countless times but I will repeat it, the only reason people DONT buy Hyundais is because they cant get their materialistic brain around the badge. IF they could and they opened their eyes and did some research they would soon find out that Hyundai actually make great fucking cars and have a car to rival (and in alot of price cases) beat the shit out of their rivals.

I'll give it ten years and most if not all of the greedy car making companies with the badge whore thing going on will dissapear up their own asses, leaving Hyundai (and now Kia who they own) to pave the way.

Next time you go out, just look and youll see just how many Hyundais are out on the roads now. I see more of them than anything else.

Honestly everytime I see Hyundai, I can't get the expereince of my friend's 1st and 2nd Generation Excel's. My friend must have had 5 or 6 of them. They were really cheap after 4 years. They were disposable cars, by 100K the motor was on its last legs.

Yeah the earlier ones were disposable.. Thing is if you look in junkyards you can find LOADS of them. I can get a Beta 2 2.0l DOHC motor for my car for about $300 lol with 30k on. One day switch..

Trans? same sorta price, there's one in every elantra

Thing is even back then the excel was comparable to the neon, and I have YET to see one get to over 70k without performing it's own oil drain and then dying.. Theyre disposable too, but theyre not even on par with a Hyundai.

You know the more I think about it the more I think he did that on purpose to stop people looking at him and saying "what a flash cunt !"

I bet people take one look and go "eww, Hyundai"

That's actually a very clever thing that guy has done there. I'd do it if I had the cash.

I actually agree with pandy on something.

The Hyundai warranty is great from what I understand. Although, all services have to be done at the stealership which is hard for someone who doesn't live near a stealership. Build quality has improved in the past few years as shown by consumer reports. Granted, I've never driven a Hyundai.

All you have to do is get your oil changed with them. And from the way Jiffy Lube are fucking up people's cars you cant blame them for that.

The warranty STILL runs 80k even if you get shit done elsewhere, so its still as good as a ford warranty and better than chevy (60k last one we had).
