Spelling and grammar could certainly be cleaned up but I don't think you're looking for feedback on that.

I'll read through this another time when I have more time in from the computer and I'll let you know what I think. I'm as amateur as it gets but the guys here have already jammed my head full of good tips :)

Some of the more pro guys could give you much better feedback.

Not trying to be a dick but you say you are a car audio installer right? Did you have any formal training?

By my guess you are trying to sum up a ton of information that you yourself don't fully understand. I would advise you to re-read your post as you will undoubtedly have a lot of grief coming from some members here about some of the statements made.

You have posted some useful information but a significant portion is too general to the point of inaccuracy.

I'll have to review and clear this up better when I am on a real computer, as I am currently using a handheld.

First your comments in regard to box building, any box or restriction of airspace will change the characteristics of a driver for the good or not. If the goal is output and not quality of sound then a properly braced enclosure will always be louder than a properly sealed enclosure with a similar design however if you combine the two you will be far better off.

Your volume calculations are off in the fact that there is no mention of internal/external, the internal volume is all that matters to the driver used, and then you need to typically account for the displacement of the driver as well. Never mind the fact that the human ear will not hear the difference of a +/-5% variance in the internal volume. When calculating the volume of an enclosure with different lengths on the sides such as single angled side commonly used to avoid direct reflections of the back-wave, you would actually calculate the rectangular volume by placing an imaginary line parallel/perpendicular to the primary sides with a right angle, you would then calculate the remaining section as a rectangle as well but you would divide the total by 2 giving you the actual internal volume.

Clipping is mainly our worst enemy in car audio, clipping is what mainly causes speaker and amp failure and bad performance, clipping is an unwanted thing.............
^^ right but if you were to keep reading the rest of the statement then it's wrong. Clipping is in fact created by a mismatch in components such as an improperly adjusted gain, in a generalized fashion clipping is when the top of an audio wave is cut flat by either lack of input voltage being accepted or lack of available output voltage essentially the wave amplitude is greater than the electronics ability to accept/produce. Charging system power/potential does play a part in this but is not a likely cause of this.

I'll leave you with the link below and suggest you not take my reply as insult but use it to keep learning.

Experiance IS the best teacher, but you have to understand it [whatever IT may be] to do it right.

I haven't read the whole thing. It'd take me a good 20 min to do so, let alone the time it took you to type it  , but it sounds as if you're negating some of the things you say.

I'm a "Back Yard" installer of 15 yrs. I haven't been to school on it but I've learned, researched, and applied on my own and w/the help of a friend that is a certified installer byDEI. If I come across something I don't know, I call him up and learn what it is that I needed to know.

peace out.

I read your "FAQ" before you deleted it. It was a whole lot of opinions and not a whole lot of facts.

P.S. I voted no.

Speedy, you are welcome here, and keep in mind I was not personally attacking you but was suggesting that you may wish to verify what you are boldly posting as fact.

Experience is a good teacher, but experience is really hard to gain if you no longer have an open mind to input because you think you already know everything that there is to know. The best way to learn is to ask why and wait for a response, not to say why and close off further input.

Well first off most of us are probably about 15 to 20 years more advanced then you are by your writings and ramblings.
And with that wisdom and age we also take constructive criticism a bit more seriously, both given and taken. We help one another when possible, and we help others when they need it, and ask for it.
What we don't do here is come online and pass a lot of hot air at each other thinking we know it all, even though I don't think you will find a brighter bunch of car fanatics anywhere else on the web.

You came to our little piece of heaven, and decided to open up your mind and let us see how much you really knew up front, and when we try to reel you back in, You call us names.
I beg your pardon, but who do you think you are, and mostly where do you think you are. This is our home, and we let you in. The least you could do is remember your in our house.

As for your rants and ramblings you did get some fair and POLITE responses to your rather lengthy and somewhat incorrect assumptions. Those responses were a bunch of very kind people trying to reel you back in, so you might do a reality check for yourself.
And I have seen these fine people in just about all of their modes and you were treated as well as could be, by your own actions.
How old are you by the way ? I am 50 and have been in this business since forever, so I think my opinion may carry some very aged wisdom and weight.

You have a lot to learn, about people, and car audio. But your manners need the most work and immediately I would say.

No One here is trying to run you off per say, But If I were you I would look at your very first post and try to understand what you invoked from all the regular folks here.
We were just trying to help you, where you were wrong, so you could become a better and wiser person. Stick around you might learn something, and we might gain from you also. Its all up to you. We will always be here, as somethings never change. :) :) :)
