Hi all, long time no post but I've started a new install and come accross a small problem! I'm wanting to mount 2 ms2250 end to end (same as an ms1000 would be) and obviously can't use my shrouds. I'm struggling to find a suitable fan(s) that can fit snuggly and compactly under the terminals, cross flow fans seem too big and room is very tight..
any ideas anyone?
this is what I hope I can achieve but i have to consider cooling, they won't be doing anything like full power, maybe a 3rd at best but still...

can you cut the center out of the area under the amps? Looks like it would buy you another 1/2"-3/4" that you could set the fan down into a little further. If you can't get a cross flow fan to work I am not sure how you could get anything else to work.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

tried a similar set up to how Eric had it, bought 3x 80x80x10mm fans but they were next to useless, maybe a rubbish fan but they hardly moved any air! pics below show the channels I routed out to allow air flow under amp board (10mm deep approx)
I also ordered an 8" cross flow fan but when the package arrived the fan had been stolen so can't try that option right now.. I really want to use the ms2250 amps as they are perfect for my system but everything is compromised one way or another!

more updates! managed to buy 2x Stinger cross flow fans, the 8" ones, they are surprisingly compact and fit right in front of amp where I wanted to put one in the first place. bery effective and only need one.
my next question is, how does the fan control in OE ms2250 work? does it give a variable output or fixed? on full the Stingers can be quite noisy!

I am pretty sure its just an on/off thing and not variable but its been so long I can't remember. They make some neat temp activated fan controllers now if you do a search. Some are not cheap like the steve mead piece but its cool for sure and 3 speed programmable.

If you want speed variable (just use a potentiometer) or temp controlled then you'll need to use a rasberrypie with some temperature sensors. You can now buy a rasberrypie for 6-10 doll hairs.
I ditched this idea in the end as it was just not effective enough, went with the Stinger cross flow fan.
I made a cover to go over it so the I could rest the wiring on it, this was my best option!

I'm back on this again as the fan control units in the ms2250 amps will not power the Stinger fan! bit disapointed as now I'm back to square one!! they are very noisey too which could be an issue..
something like the below could work, but where the hell do I mount it? must need to be near the sink to be of any use?

no idea but there's hardly any room between sink and build, similar to if I was running OE shroud.

Focals sound amazing with the servo sub, only thing letting it down is the plexi covers vibrate on the amps! not sure how to fix this? maybe some Tesa tape on the amps?
I decided to remove the wiring bridge as it was too restrictive and this has helped air flow, also managed to get one of the fan boards working correctly to power the fan.

the problem is they are only held in with 2 very small screws so not very secure, I wonder if I could make a single thicker plexi to cover both amps? I could have a custom logo etched in or something.. there's an idea, no idea where to start finding someone that could make me something though..

Marko, long time no speak. Would be good to get listen one day. Great kit, good to see your back. If your ever moving on the 2250's let me know (probably be massive money but hey) Hope your good.

I'm good thanks, hope you're OK too, don't post much on here these days but still check in and still very much a PG nut!
I did have 3 ms2250's but let one go a couple of years back, 2 is perfect for me so won't ever sell

Not sure if your cooling problems are solved, but you may be able to run a hose from the under-seat AC vent to the heatsinks. I would have tried running some aluminum tubing under the heatsinks with cold water for fun.... Also, if you need a simple schematic to make a multi stage fan controller i can help with that..... You could run the fan at a lower speed until it gets warmer......
