I wish I had 1300 bucks...man, that amp looks sick, the pic of errin holding it...thing is like 2 feet long...and the fact that theyre vanishing as soon as they come in means I will probably only ever get to buy a used one here in like 5 years

Can't please em all
The boot on RSdC is removable, BTW. The bumps on the end also keep the vent hole from being blocked in tight installs (box specs are smallish mostly).
The gasket is burly and plain. No logos, no plastic doo dads to fly off, and is also reversible. (or removable)
We chose not to spend money on shiney metal back plates and LED lights. No big plastic star trek molding to hide a tiny motor. (the boot chosen was not my favorite but I can't win them all)
Didn't notice any mention of the crazy cast basket. A BIG BIG improvement over the stamped steel RSd.
Try and you will like. I am running Ryval 800.1 (another over powered, superbly engineered, understated, powerhouse line of amps straight from PG HQ design central) into an RSdC124 wired to 2ohms. I can't get the thing to bottom out with that measly power. Although it's shaking my car to pieces.
Thanks for the review guys. and correct: RSdC + RSc Components + Roadster = pure sex. I would like to hear from you all when you get a couple of these. (the new woofs)

Hi Errin.
im not so concerned about the over all loudness of the beast, i have no doubts there, i just want to know how it plays extended low notes (~30hz) compared to the normal rsd's

That looks much much much much better...
Can you answer why the excursion is so low on a sub that has a tall surround to begin with? I know excursion doesnt mean much, just curious.. When will these be avaliable again? Seeing as their are not pg dealers within 200 or so miles from me, I will be buying online...

theres rsd component set ? I think he just meant to put RSdcs which is the model number for the normal compsAhsmo wrote:RSDc components... I might be interested. Perhaps and this is perhaps if the planets align(engine doesn't blow) I might do a roadster + RSDc install.
I am not sure if that amp will fit in my car though
Can one send others to war if hes not willing to go himself?
Compared to the competition 14.8mm is a small number. I just thought it would be more with the tall surround and all. I could care less about excursion, seeing as many things play a role in sound other than excursion, but it just seemed a bit low. For instance the fi q is 27mm, the ssd is 21, the sound splinter rlp 12 is 24.2. Once again, I dont really care about that, just an observation.stipud wrote:Now THAT is more my cuppa tea!!!![]()
Mac, what do you mean low excursion? That's quite a good number for linear one-way xmax...
Uhhh...Mackenzie wrote:Compared to the competition 14.8mm is a small number. I just thought it would be more with the tall surround and all. 27mm peak to peak Xmax = 13.5mm one-way
Comparitively speaking, the RSD comp has 29.6mm peak to peak excursion, which is higher than anything you listed.
Do the math before you start bashing something...

My mistake.. If you go back and actually read, I was never bashing, I was wondering why. For the record I also said that xmax doesnt mean anything to me, I was just wondering why. Thanks for clearing that up, I was under the impression it was peak to peak.stipud wrote:Uhhh...Mackenzie wrote:Compared to the competition 14.8mm is a small number. any comment to my response question? how do they sound compared to a normal RSD?OldSchoolFool wrote:Typos
Yes there is no RSdC component set as of now, but we have wishes too. My typo was meant to say RSd components, as in the ones you can get now.
The xmax is one way, as previously stated. Total = 29.6.

I've read this thread, seems like a lot of questions with no answers.
And how do you know the subs he listed are peak to peak xmax? I'm sure most are rated one way linear. Just wondering where you've read that its peak to peak? Usually xmax posted with t/s parameters is read as one way. Unless peak to peak is listed, I'm pretty sure it should be read as one way.
