Looking good! I hope you figure out what to do with your front stage. I isntalled my RSdC 12 and I didnt experince the same thing you did, but on heavy bass music (like the one from your vid) it sure gets loud if you want to, in order to move some serious air I have to turn the gain of the sub output on my alpine head unit up. I am hunting rattles now and I have about 150 square foot of raamat + ensolite everywhere! When I play anything else, the sub just blends in with my front stage really good to a point where I have to look back and make sure the sub is playing! My crossover point is 63hz for the sub at 18dbs. Make sure your EQ for the bass is turned down, because this beast will move some serious air when you add just a couple of dbs. I have the same amp that you have for the sub, and a matching JBL for the front speakers... I will take pics this wkd.
It would look real nice if you had a sheet of mdf cut to the size of the subs and ports to make it look like a single piece. You may consider making a false floor for the amps or mounting the amps behind the box on a rack. If I were you I would get the matching JBL 75.4 or smaller + a component set of your choice (rds are really nice for its price), and maybe upgrade your headunit with one that will give you more control over your equipment. Like crossover, eq, etc...
Be nice to the alarms...!! :D :D :D :D

Yeah I don't really know what to do with the front stage. I was looking at the jbl 4x6's. And jbl 6x9's. They look alright. 4x6's only hold about 40watts rms.

Mine may be loud because I have two subs instead of your one. And many other factors come into play. What kind of car do you have yours in? And size of box?

I have my gain around a quarter to a half. My bass on the head unit is all the way up. No bass boost on the amp though. Have that all the way down. So you are controlling the crossover from the head unit? Everywhere in the car and trunk is vibrating also.

I was thinking of having like a trim panel thing go over the front to make it look better. But I might try to put my other box in, that is carpeted. But the only down side to that box is that the subs would be in a shared enclosure. And the box would be about 2.16cuft without displacements and tuned to 35hz. Almost the same. I just worry about them going into the same enclosure.

Theres barely any trunk room in this car. So I don't know how I should start out the amp rack. I think the subs sound the best with them further back. I should test them out. But they sound so good this way. I already have the jbl amp tilted a bit so the m44 could be under it a bit. They couldn't fit side by side. I think I might put some blue led's in the trunk area tomorrow. I like to get a jbl 2channel or something but I don't know what to do with this amp if I do that. I also was thinking of getting a better headunit. But I don't really know what to get first.

oh yeah and my jbl amp's remote terminals screw broke. I wasn't even tightening it. I was trying too loosen it and the friggin top part of the screw broke. Now its stuck in there and I put tape over the remote to hold it in. Have any ideas how to get it back out?

I drive a little hatchback, it is called chevy lacceti there in canada and suzuki reno down here. Same car. My box is a 2.5cub ported tunned to 23hz. I dont remember where my gains are right now, I havent messed with it yet.

The 4x6 might hold with a high pass of about 100hz in your doors. The 6x9 should get loud enough to keep up with the subs. But if you want a SQ system you will need to go in a diferent way, with component speakers for the front, and the 6x9 for the special ocasions only. But it seems like you like your system to get loud!! So, just get the 4x6 and 6x9, and you will need an amp for them. I dont know about your amp m44, what is it rated? A 4 channel ( 4x50-60w at 4ohms) would be ideal, or a 2 channel (2x100w at 2ohms). Just swoop the sub boxes and see what it sounds like...

I am controling everything from the head unit, it is an alpine 9855. I have an alpine type x (spx177r) for my front stage, active, the mids are in .3cub feet sealed enclosures and the tweeters are on the A-pillars powered with a jbl gto75.4 II . but before the signal makes to the amp each side L and R pass through a 30band equalizer. And the jbl gto1201.1.II powering the sub.

So, if you want to get loud, start with the 4x6 and 6x9, then go to a new headunit if you want more control. The advantage of the headunit is that you can control your crossovers, what I do is: when I want to listen to low to moderate voulme on any kind of music, I have my crossover on the headunit set to 63hz low at 18dbs , 63hz mid-low at 18dbs, mid-high 3.2hz at 24dbs, and 3.2 and up at 24dbs for highs. When I want to tear it up, with a press of a buttom the crossovers change to low at 100hz 24dbs, mid-low 100hz 24 dbs, and same thing above that. That way I can turn the volume of the sub on the headunit high, and my speaker will get extremely loud!!!!

What you can try to do to the broken screw is use a drill with a small drilling bit, put the drill on reverse (unscrew) and press the bit on top of the broken screw, and hopefully the bit will grab on something and unscrew it.

yeah I might get some pics up tomorrow. Made a single dual box for both. 2.16cuft tuned to 35hz, shared airspace. Got carpet on front, blue paint on back. Just have to wait for the paint to dry and put my subs in tomorrow. Hopefully it sounds good.

I can't hear any port noise, so I think thats good. But I don't really like the sound of it because its higher tuned and I can't hear the low notes that I'm used to. And it seems like the subs bottom out easier. Probably of the slight increase in cuft in the enclosure. So I don't know what to do about this. I was thinking of putting some more mdf inside the box and maybe a longer port somehow. I like the look of it though but don't like the sound. You have any suggestions?
