1200.1 @ 2ohms or 4?

Post by capitolj80 »

do you guys think a set of the rsd12's could handle the rsd1200.1 @ 2ohms or should i just run it a 4ohms...or can you even run two 4ohm SVC's @ 4ohms? What happens when you dont wire them in series or parellel, just hook each one to the amp? ...could they handle the 1000rms from 2ohms? oh yeah...what's the fuse rating on the 500.4?
what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

If the 500.4 you have is rated the same as the Ti, then its 60

Some people run a single RSd12 off an RSd1200.1 so I wouldn't worry about it.

The amp has two speaker terminals but they are duplicates, meaning it's still really only one channel. So, you have the option of going 2 ohms with the subs in parallel or 8 ohms in series (with SVC subs).

they will easily handle that amp at 2ohms.

you can not run 2 SVC rsd's at 4ohms on one amp.

they will make either a 2 or 8 ohm load.

go with the 2ohm

right on...i didnt think 4ohms was possible...had to check though...what load would you have if each speaker was wired only to the amp and not eachother? Would that technically still be wiring in parallel sinces the wires do end up touching (at the amps terminal)? thnx dudes :)

Yep, that would be parallel wiring.
