Repairing LTD Octane *UPDATE 21/06* IT LIVES AGAIN

ok following on from my other thread i have my octane back now

the high pass side has dropped the left channel

the right channel works and the high pass side works bridged?

the crossover still works, some1 said something about it being a common problem

for anyone who does not know the octane amp, its basically 2 ti400.2's in one case, its got 1 set of rca's in which goes through a xover and so one amp is high pass and one is low pass(mine has dropped the left channel on the high pass amp)

any advice would be welcome

i'll put pics up in a little while when i get both amps apart

i have a spare ti400.2 and will proably start swapping bits over at the weekend if i cant fix the octane

after testing the 400.2 i got from blackwaterop and it working fine i started taking everything apart

everything looks ok? only thing i could see is that a chip has a bit of corrosion around it(on the right?) and one of the capacitors in the capacitor bank in the middle was leaking

but then i noticed that the ti400.2 had some fried resistors on it in between the rca's in and the crossover selector

so it wasnt going to be a straight swap i had to use the crossover board from the octane and the mian board from the 400.2 and the boards are slightly different so i had to do some soldering
i had to desolder this ribbon from each board

the extra ti400.2's is definitely the easiest route to go with.

the highpass side WILL work even if only one channel is working. check with a volt meter to see if its really making bridged power.

cant really test it now as i decided to take everything apart and attack it will my solder iron.

stupid thing is i tested the ti400.2 today and it worked fine but when i took it apart its got a line of dead resistors, and the octane looks fine but doesnt want to work?

3 wires that i need to solder to the board from the ti400.2 as it doesnt have the connectors

then i had to remove the dead capacitor from the rali bank

and i've found somewhere that will send some new caps to the uk so that should be ok to fix
