it doesnt matter really, as long as its dry.

i like to put in inside the door panel (on the inside of the vapor barrier)

that way you only have to squeeze 1 length of speaker wire through the door boot, instead of 2)

if it wont fit, you can put it in your trunk and show it off, but you will use more wire that way (2 runs all the way up front, instead of 1)

this is pretty much what the crossover looks like, its about 2.5 x 5 inches

Cutting the hole for the tweeter is kinda touchy. I always go from the back with a holesaw and turn it slow so as to not punch through and fuk up the skin of the panel.
2 tips-
1. Take off both panels so you can make sure to place them in the same place.
2.TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!! I can't tell ya how many times I've seen poor installs due to rushing it along.

I don't think this is over yer head atall. Just go slow. I'd recomend using 12g wire also. The crap that comes in the box just won't cut it.

i recommend this kit: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetai ... ID=KOL-AK8

and then purchasing about 20-30 extra feet extra of the wire (kit comes with 20) http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetai ... ID=KLE12BL

that should be enough to finish everything

If I were you, I'd just do the coax RSDs, and spend my energy figuring out how to mount 6.5"s in the stock location if possible. It looks like there may be plenty of space.

It could save you from ruining your door panels.

The 6.5" coax are gonna be less expensive and easier to install. As far as sound goes, components are better. I guess it really depends on yer confidence level with cutting holes.

Flat spot on the doors right above the midrange looks perfect for a tweet. I hate having tweeters behind metal mesh, since it causes some nasty reflections.

^that works, or if you dont want to cut holes in the panel, the rsd coax's aren't bad by any means.

what is behind the kick panels? is it open space, or wires?

Tom is right. That would be a good place for a tweet. I was thinking on the grey band about 3 inches to the right from where the small defrost vent is. But that's a bit more more advanced.

I'd also recomend new sub/subs and box after all this. If you were around here, I'd say we could do "work day" and get yer system installed but..............

West coast is the BEST cost.................

If all else fails, you could always have a shop install the tweets into the doors and you can do the rest. I'll bet it wouldn't cost much if ya take just the panels in. All they'd have to do is cut the holes out pretty like.

Just a $$$ saving idea cus replacing a panel would cost way more.

we have a few on the east coast: http://phoenixphorum.com/get-on-the-map ... vt541.html

but seriously....after all this discussion. the coax's aren't a BAD option at all. if you don't feel comfortable cutting, no shame in the coax's.

that said...the more i look at that little kick panel...the more a flush mount in the upper corner makes sense. hope its got some clearance behind it.
