Repairing Amps
Repairing Amps
I have a few old PG amps that I am thinking about installing again. After reading posts on the board it sounds like I should have someone at least go through them. Should I send them off to PG or have someone here on the board work on them. If so, any recommendations?
Amps in question are a MPS2500 and 2250. Outlaw and Bandit, Route66 and a Octane LE. I have owned the first two since I bought new, the rest have all been random purchases.

I'd say it would be a good idea to send them into PG. It's gonna be kind spendy to do all of them but well worth it once ya see the kind of damage by not having the maintainance done. They have a flat rate repair list that ya can look at to get an idea of what it'll cost ya.

Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!
you may also try and find Dr fosgate. He does upgrades to the likes of the outlaw bandit and route 66. oh and might also upgrade the MPS2500 and 2250...
I dont know his rates. And I am not sure how you would find him other than he used to run the soundbuggy forums which is now gone.
but maybe the admin of the soundbuggy.com might have a contact email or something for you.

you can try him there.
To give you an idea of some of his work:

And as I stated he does do upgrades to amps...as to the extent and what more you can expect you will need to contact him.

i think his email does work; when i pulled up his tutorial of cap replacement on this phorum, i sent him pics, asked a few questions( iwanted to use a combo of hotglue/and clear caulk to help caps stay in place, but he had a valid point, the hot glue, overtime, is more apt to crack , he was very nice and helpful-i just looked it up -drfosgate@gmail.com
as she walked out the door she expressed, 'enjoy your amp addiction'

Don't sweat it, I misspell my own name all of the time. Lol.
1Moreamp is not around on this board anymore. I am pretty sure he is in Cali. Not 100%, but that is what I gathered from chatting with him. I will talk to him and see if he minds my passing along his email address.
