Look at the latest Fortune magazine. There is an article on global oil production and new methods of mining it... Anyway in that article it shortly explains that Iraq in the next few years will be the #2 oil producing country in the world, next to Saudi Arabia. Exxon and Shell have very large stakes in mining the Iraqi fields.

Lets just pull all our troops home and stop playing with the rest of the world. And I can bet you nothing in the world will change. Except what the other countries say about us. Now all you hear is how bad the US is for being here, or being there. We pull back and they will all shout.... Where is the US to save us. We humans are screwed up anyway. We are good and compassionate by ourselves.... but once you get a whole load of us involved we will screw it all up trying to make everyone happy.
I feel bad for the Haitians, but what does the world want us to do. Hell, old Hugo "Shove-it-all-up-my-ass" states the US is terrible, yet he sends 1 plane to help Haiti. So kind of him. Just like the Africans, I think we should just send them U-Hauls. So they can move to a safer place in the world like Venezuela. Sounds like a plan to me.
Then you hear all the crap about the US and our allies in here or there for oil. What a fuking useless and dumb thing to say. Of course we are. Every country is out for oil now. What is China and Russia buying up by the billions right now? Oil. What powers our electrical plants and cars. Oil is used by everyone.... and some day it might be water if they get hydrogen as the main resource powering the world. I just can't believe everyone makes this statement like its an evil reason. WE ALL USE IT! That's like saying we are in the middle east for Oxygen. Which sadly, I bet we will be one day.

I am big fan of equal/fair trade (which the WTO and US do not practice) and an isolationist government in general. Removing ourselves from the UN of course... Not very popular, but I bet it would solve a lot of our current problems!!! This socialism kick ain't going to cut it. Look at the EU with the ultra socialist state of Greece! Bankrupt!

What is not being said here is this: The second shit like Haiti happens, out come the vampires. The aid groups, the commercials, the begging for money. We all know these groups skim 10%+ on up to 80% or more of what they take.
Which attitude is worse? "fuck Haiti" or "lets get really really rich by begging people for money for Haiti"
The Red Cross was up like 5 billion over Katrina. People are getting rich off the 250k dead in Haiti. "But wait" you say "the aid organizations help people". Really? Just why is it then, that Port Au Prince went from less than a million citizens to almost 3 million in a couple decades? Oh yeah, AID (money given isn't necessarily used well, eh? shoulda put in some earthquake proof structures with some of that dough). Remember when Bill Clinton invaded Haiti? To re-install Aristide. Look it up.
What people are reacting to, whether they know it or not, is how Haiti has always been a toilet, a playground for US interests and others, a backwards nation, seemingly helpless to find it's own destiny after CENTURIES, a nation of dupes, and ingrates too used to getting what they think they want or need handed to them. Compare Haiti to any of it's neighbors, heck even Cuba, and ask yourself why we should help these people. Let the billions flow, just not any of my money. (besides taxes... the government goons already got mine)
