I just started working with a girl that is an audio engineer at a studio. The things that she has told that the computer does is ridiculous. I could go in there and rip out a track in 30 min and have it sound like I was a fully trained singer. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

As far as hip hop goes, you guys forgot Binary star, Gang Starr, atmospheres or my personal favorite (the whole CD is just too funny to be serious)

I dont know how to embed the video, so you have to click the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i2v1b0BsbA

talib kweli.. . outkast.. cunninlynguists (or anyone on qn5 for that matter).. swollen members! uh lets see.. mc chris..

of course the roots is the shit, I've heard they're going to be the house band for jimmy fallons late night show, which has its ups and downs. Alot of good hiphop has been dropping even recently, which is tough to say of every other genre. I haven't heard a new alternative/rock group worth a damn in years.

Rock is dead!
I'm afraid of widths.

Good topic... interesting anyways, brings it back which is cool.
IIRC Del is Ice Cubes Cousin in fact...
MC Milk (from Audio Two is MC Lyte's Brother)
Ms. Melody was Kris Parkers (KRS1) Wife (I think) she was one of them's wife... Kris or Kenny Parker's wife..
(just came to mind when thinking of realationships between rap/hip hoppers etc...

Del's track funny track, remeber "Ahhhh, I'm drunk Now... I wanna say hello to that man over there... his name is: Mista-Dobilina, Mista-Bob Dobilina, Mista-Dobilina, Mista-Bob Dobilina"

But
Tribe, De La, KRS/BDP, AZ, Common Sense/Common (I'm sure you all remember him as Common Sense (soul by the pound)... Fugees, Roots, J%, JMT, Pete Rock/CL Smooth, EPMD, Biggie, RUN-DMC, Mantronix (used to love that shit in HS, got stoned and listend that shit LOUD LOUD w/ Headphone and tape deck in pocket)... list goes on.. Brand Nubian / Grand Puba.. Liked them a bunch!
I'm sure I forgot some, I also like some new stuff Talib, Hy-Tek, Papoose, even some of the reggaeton... i.e. Don Omar, Wisen Y Yandel, (can only take so much of that shit though.. but some is okay)... most new comercial stuff I dont like to fool with.. but do like Kanye, find myself listening to Lil Wayne a little bit, do like Clipse though....

Listen to this track "Soud by the Pound"... To think that came out in 91/92.. he was so ahead of his time.. that flow was F-L-O-W.

Still Listen to it as with a lot of old school joints in the car... 30GB iPod & 30 GB hard drive in HU.. There is so much everything from Bill Whithers to Michael Jackson to Joan Jett and ACDC... But Ol'skool Hip Hop is where my heart is, good ol'skool you'll still find on my ipod... i.e. audio two, BDP, Dre, Cypress Hill, De La (listening to it today - De La is Dead!),

Whats your take on the Beastie Boys. Thats the only rap-hip hop I ever listened to in high :bong: school. I really didnt start venturing into any of the rest until my early 20's.

oh yeah beatie's.. of course.. like'em like'em allot - licensed to ill... a grand slam definitely! I even listen to some of their stuff before they started doing rap.
Ever hear Cookie-puss by them??? I'll see if I can dig it up and get in on.. funny shit.. they actually got in trouble with the recording becasue they recorded a phone call placed to Carvel with out disclosing their intent... They were once called The Young and the Useless, and their co-producer was Nick Cooper who i know personally.
