you just ground the amp to the neg of the battery, i do this all the time when playing/testing stuff.
i have a battery pack/jumper i use for testing smaller amps and if i need more oomph i use a spare car battery.
i use an old alpine headunit that's ran off it's own little 12v supply and just plug rca's in and away we go!

the battery pack i use is 12v jump start battery pack, not sure if rc ones will work, i can only advice on what i do on a regular basis..KUB3 wrote:Oh cool, easy enough then. A battery pack from an RC model shop might work I guess, for a quick test anyway. I can use an RCA lead from my preamp as an input to my PG's, then run my Dynaudios (which are 4ohm anyway). I'll go battery hunting soon

After some thought I have decided I may try and simplify this a little, closer to what I had originally imagined, so bear with me. I think I will most likely stick to a 2 way system up front with rear sub/s. So this eliminates some of the extra amps. This will obviously keep it more compact and a touch less heavy. I'll just keep the spare amps in my stash. So I'll be drawing up some different layouts for this soon...

MS275 - mid-bass
MS2250 - sub/s

You care to pm me the dimensions on that handbuilt unitJacampb2 wrote:I'll play! Here is my "ZPA 0.8" built from the ground up, the only thing not built by myself is the actual Amplifier boards.
Still not done, but hopefully I will wrap it up soon!
