First Id like to say that Ive been pretty freakin happy with the deh-690ub prs.
Id like a head unit to go active but an older model. I need 3 preouts yadda yadda .
I cant swing a 880prs or anything right now so Im looking for some thing a few product cycles older that I might be able to get on the cheap.

how old are you looking for? i have a pioneer dex-p1r collecting dust if that interests you http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... -P1R?tab=B it worked great when i pulled it, except the amp turn on did not work. i just used a toggle switch
kind of mickey mouse, but i had the head unit wired to it as well so i could listen to the system without the keys in the ignition.

As for a price range it doesnt matter. Im looking for model numbers to see what I can find out there.

I just pulled my Alpine 9815 out of my car last week, swapped in a Kenwood nav system. Have to say, the Alpine sounded better but I wanted Nav so oh well. Mine's mint , original box, manuals, remote..... low usuage. And yes it plays CD-R's and CD-RW's which I used all the time. Was going to flog it on Ebay for $200. Would rather sell it here to a phorum member.

I really liked my DEX-P1r. It comes with a microphone that auto-EQ's your car. Works quite well, but not as good as a dedicated RTA/30 band setup. The crossovers, slopes, etc are very easy to set up as 3-way active.
It was a little hard to read in the sun, and the power supply hummed a bit in my car. Otherwise that headunit was perfect.
