2 RSDC 10's ported or 4 RSDC 10's ported?

Post by ThatGuy »

I am looking for a new setup for my Titan truck, I am looking at the RSDC10 I don't know if I want to go with 2 RSDC 10's ported or should I go with 4 sealed. If anyone can shed some light on the subject I would appreciate it. Also I already have a 4 10 sealed enclosure I had 4 RE SR 10's in and it should be the right airspace for the 10's I think it is .55 a piece.

never go less..... almost always leads to dissapointment. go 4-10's with the box you have.

Yeah might as well keep your current box. 4 subs will be 3dB louder than 2, sealed vs sealed. Now with a ported box it's probably equally loud, but sealed will sound better.

Well what do you want to know? That question is pretty open. Some guys love ported, some love sealed. Some love more drivers, some love less.

Other than "You should run X woofers!" I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for.

I am trying to get the loudest deepest bass, and the reason for all the questions is because I have changed my setup in my truck about 4 times and I am trying to get some insight before I waste more money, also how would 4 RSD 10's do sealed

Loudest is probably easiest to achieve with a ported setup. But unless you can tune the port really low, you may not get the ultra-deep bass you're looking for.

I'm not skilled with ported enclosure design, at all. Maybe someone else can help determine how low you could tune and graph the response for you to see if that's low enough not.
