amp powers up, but no sound???

Post by Stryker »

first off this is not a PG amp in question.
this amp powers up fine, delivers 7 volts at the speaker outputs. nothing audible from the speakers. any idea's? amp worked fine for awhile but then nothing. it's a Crossfire TEK 35.4, At some point I may need someone to maybe fix it for me if this is something i cannot fix myself which is completely likely. I haven't won the auction yet but I'm hoping to and was wanting an idea on what it may be.
thx
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.

7 volts AC at the speaker outputs means that the guy selling it has a blown speaker, as that is more than enough voltage to make some sound, regardless of what it is.

If it has 7 volts DC at the speaker outputs it is truly fuckered up. High DC at the outputs is caused by the outputs leaking the rail voltage. There are many things that could cause it. Not so many that could get it up as high as 7Vdc... If it is DC, then it is a very high DC offset. Most likely it has some blown components.

Good luck,
Jason
