okay I just installed a PG zx475ti, just running fronts for now, the sub is powered by a PG zx600ti.
Everytime I turn the car off there is a speaker pop. Before with just the sub amped, it was tolerable. But now, theres high pitch annoying noise with the speaker pop, from the newly amped front speakers.
temporary fix for now, I ran the remote wire from the 475ti to the defogger fuse, and use it as a temporary manual power switch to turn off the 475ti before shutting off my car.
How do you guys get around this? Im not sure what I did wrong? thanks for your help in advance
the PG ZXTi's have a delay turn on built into them there shouldn't be any pops at all. Every review I've ever read on these amps there has always been a comment about how nice it was that there was no audible noise at power up and power down. something is wacky. I 've personally had a few of these myself and never once was there any noise from powering up or down. tell us some more about your install. is the B+ directly to the battery? how short is the ground wire? is the remote run off the deck or something else? this is a start but it's very odd that this is happening with these amps.
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.
alrightey I think I fixed it, thanks for your replies and help, its been invaluable.
For archival purposes, I didnt realize my HU (Alpine IVA-C800) had a remote turn on lead, so Im going to connect the remote wires from both the amps to that. thanks guys!
problem solved then.... I knew something wasn't right cause those amps are quiet as a mouse, as in for Competition purposes...(you lose points for turn on pops etc.) although you may not compete PG designed them with that in mind.
