Xenon 600.1 and 12" PG RSDC wiring question and optimal
Had the rsdc woofer for a bit, just needed an amp. Figure I would stick with the PG amp for the sub at least so I picked up the Xenon. My question for you guys since I have the dual 4 ohm sub, should I wire it to 2 ohms or 8? I know the 4-1 ohm load makes 600 watts with increased heat by going down. Just wondering what the optimal setup would be without going crazy on gains?
Also, on the box, thinking of doing sealed. I calculate the volume based on basic volume formula (length, width, and height divided by 1728(thanks smgreen).
Thanks.

You'd be alright on 2 ohms w/that amp. Yea it'll run a bit hotter, but I don't think it'll be an issue at all. At 8 ohms I believe that amp will cut in half the power. At 2 ohms (in a review) it actually went up 100 watts at 2 ohm vs 4 ohm.
Divided by 3?????
Internally
Length x width x height (US) = XX inches
XX inches divided by 1728 ( the amount of square inches in a cubic foot)= XX cubic feet.
Example: 32" x 16" x 10" = 5120"
5120 divided by 1728 = 2.962 cubic feet

for big subs like the rsdc you want to go with hurricane nuts and bolts.
they can't quite take a 1/4 so i like these a lot:

they hold amazingly well and you never have to worry about the screws stripping. just buy some #8-32 screws at your local hardware store to go with em

skip the bass boost for sure. that really taxes your electrical system hard for very little gain.
the "gain" will probably be set high on the xenon because they like about 8+ volts of input signal.
the subsonic can be set about 25, but on that sub really isn't necessarily. it is designed to play VERY low. even on unnaturally low electronically produced notes.
the crossover should be set at a point that allows it to start playing where your fronts leave off. try around 85hz, and work your way down
