Another oldie gone.

Every classic car has its limits, even the classic ones I restore for a living.
The driver of this big and very fast car stepped out of his total-loss vehicle and had... NOTHING.
His car wasn't so lucky.
The pics may not show it clearly, but one corner of the container went through the front shield, and ended up next to his head, folding the roof up for about 30 cm.....
BTW; he waited for his car for half a year to be restored.... picked it up,... and 10 minutes later he called that he had rear-ended a containertruck while it was trying to avoid a sudden traffic jam...
I guess he was just enjoying the sheer power of his wolf in sheeps-clothes, as this is the fastest saloon they made in those days, along with other models like the 300 SL gullwing and the Mercedes 600.

Well, it wasn't paid for in full when it was picked up, but the owner paid.
He is actually so fond of this car, that he asked us to check if we can rebuild it again.... no matter the costs.....
So we already took the engine and interior out, and it's in the bodyshop now ,where they check by exact measuremants how much [invisible] damage there really is.
The owner had planned to get married in January, using this car, and he's a very determined [and rich  ] man.
If the bodyshop can fix the damage, then I've got a challenge in the next two months!
