Does the fan on the X600.1 run all the time or only when it needs it?

the 600 and 1200 both have thermostats that turn on the fan as necessary. the full range amps run all the time
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"

Just verified that. I found the thermal sensor for the fan, took out the screw and lifted it up, put my soldering iron under it and the fan started up.
