Iv been using 12 gauge but is this overkill? I was thinking of buying 16 gauge would this be ok?

Im using my zx950 (the 450 side) for my mids and tweets

I likes the 12g for speaker wire. It's just right IMO.
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

use this handy calculator. as you can see, with 100 watts over 20 feet you are looking at a bout a .5v difference

are you running active or using a passive crossover? bridged of the 450 or 4 channel?

if you are duel bridging it to a passive crossover i would run 12 awg and then 16 after that. but 12 awg all around isnt worth it imo
