brid flu
just read some articles one it.....pretty much seems like the flu will spread like wild fire the mortality rate will not be so high, but should kill a decent chunk of people. The main problem will be from people reactions to the flu, basically food, water, other essentails, air masks, guns sales at first will go out of the roof. Eventually get to the point where prices rise and GOVT will cap the price causing in a sense a black market for all of these products and a shortage. Ever producers output will decrease as when the flu hits half of everyone will not show up to work, causing price to raise higher and quanity to decrease even more.
Next people will charge everythign at first w/o any care of paying it back, thus causing credit card companies to fail, makign all credit card worthless. Next everyone will pull their money out of the bank, banks can not give everyone the money which will cause the GOVT to print excess money causing super high inflation making money for the most part worthless. Everyone will liquidate from the stock market, causing it to crash worse then ever. For most part money will be worthless, cuasing us to barter for what we want. All law enforcers at this point will be gone, causing crime to sky rocket like in NO, but across the world. Basically waterfall to a possible anarchy and GOVT collapses worldwide.

it gets even better than that, there are two known anti-viral options and every major government has them stock-piled at this point except the US as they are not "FDA" accepted, so the US has just enough on hand to save the politicians and maybe 1/8 of the US population after that.
The only thing we are waiting on at this point is for it to go airborne as it is currently only spread by bodily fluids at this point. It currently has near a 48% mortality rate. Those who get treatment within 24 hours of contraction typically survive however the recovery is a long process.
I could be a bit off at this point as my knowledge of the subject is about a year old.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
little off from what I read today.VW337 wrote:it gets even better than that, there are two known anti-viral options and every major government has them stock-piled at this point except the US as they are not "FDA" accepted, so the US has just enough on hand to save the politicians and maybe 1/8 of the US population after that.

Most agree on around 20% mortality rate, around 90% of world population infected. That anti viral stuff is good but not a cure, as it doesn't help agiasnt every virus, pretty much 50/50 chance it would work. the scary thing is the flu wont destroy our way of life, it is peoples reaction that will.
The flu has only transfered from birds to humans on a few occasions. NO HUMAN TO HUMAN TRANSACTIONS, but only a matter of time if it's jumped from birds to humans.

So the mortality rate has gone down then.
The anti-viral has been tested and proven to work if taken within the first day of symptoms.
There was one or two cases which were thought to be human to human but they could not verify either as all parties were dead before they could get answers.
I am just glad I tend to be near immune to any strains of flu, I just get gas for a day or two.
I think it is because I had salmonella at a very young age, and comparing the flu to that is like comparing Everclear to 7up.

Actually I read in the cases they believe that there could of been human to human transfer, from a daughter to a mom but couldn't confirm it as both "could" of had contact w/ the birds.
That anti virus stuff could work but they just arent sure has it has not mutated yet....once it does they can test to see if it does but by then it will be to late. Yet we all should have one IMO...

He is actually a 100% conservative you should like.... so as you expect I go at w/ him in class about political and social issues, yet he is extremely knowledgeable got his DR. degree from Princeton, which in my mind is impressive.
My explanation here was all worst-case scenarios...but he was just trying it illustrate the potential of how a waterfall effect could occur, that could lead to a devastating outcome.

Some of the most unintelligent people I have met have PhDs. One of which I work with.
Having a PhD does not make you intelligent or even knowledgeable. All it makes you is educated, and these days educated does not amount to a hill of beans in many cases.
The smartest and most knowledgeable professor I ever had, only had a masters degree. My college required PhDs, but he was there well before that rule came about and was “grandfathered” in.
I don’t want to make this a political debate, but I personally don’t much care for 100% conservatives, or 100% liberals. Anyone who blindly conforms to an idealism 100% is not a fan of mine.
