I was at my local dealer Tuesday and saw he had sitting out a TREO SSi 12.22, as a joke I asked if he'd straight up trade me my 10" TREO SSi 10.44 for the 12" TREO SSi. He said he'd think about it. Well, I went in today for some R&R and he said yes! Shocked the shit out of me, so w/o futher adue..........

I will, it'll be a few weeks though. One week we're in the 60-70s, and the next back down to the 30-40s w/1-2" of snow tonight.

Back when I worked at Rockford, we did a lot of testing of Treo woofers (some of their models were direct competitors of ours), and we found them to be quite poor in both power handling, and performance.

At rated power levels they would not last more than a few hours on power testing, something all our woofers would do for 24 hours+ at rated power. Actual in car output and frequency response was also poorer, but probably not enough to care.

If I remember right, most of this was due to use of such a small voice coil. They simply would not handle the power they were rated at, without the coil overheating and falling apart.

But, this was close to 5 years ago now, and their products may be completely different now.

I hope, as the 10" I had was being pushed by the ZPA0.5 set to 800 wrms (DMM) and took it all day long. I don't know what they're VCs where at the time, but now most of them are 3" VCs as are the SSi series.
