I HAVE LUCKED UP AGAIN........

SINCE BEING ONLINE I'VE BEEN ON A PG PILGRIMAGE A BUDDY CALLED TO TELL ME HE JUST GOT YET ANOTHER PHOENIX GOLD TI600.2 HE SAID HE COULDN'T GET IT TO WORK HE OWNS A PAWN SHOP HERE IN MN HE ALWAYS CALL WHEN SOMEONE BRINGS IN SOME PG GOODIES.SO OUT THE DOOR I WENT TO CHECK IT OUT AFTER LOOKING AT THE AMP I GAVE THE GUY THAT WAS PAWNING IT 20 BUCKS FOR IT I THEN PROCEEDED TO PLUG IT UP IN MY CAR AS SOON AS I PUT MY INLINE FUSE IN IT BLEW ITS LIKE THE POWER IS TOUCHING THE GROUND SO I UNHOOKED IT AND STARTED MY INVESTIGATION EVERY THING LOOKED GOOD EXCEPT SOME SMALL BURNS ON THE RESISTOR'S ON THE TOP BOARD CHECK THE PICTURES I NEED HELP YOU GUYS.......PS....AFTER I PURCHASED THE AMP ON MY WAY OUT THE DOOR MY BUDDY SAID"WHAT IS WITH YOU AND THESE OLD PG AMPS"I TURNED AND LOOKED AT HIM AND SAID"THERE IS GOLD IN THESE AMPS AND LAUGHED.

Check the output transistors, those blew on mine. Whenever I powered up the amp, the fuses blew, I replaced those bad boys and I was good to go!

I don't know the specifics on your amp, but that's were I would start. Probably a good idea to check the power supply fets as well...

thanx eulogious for the input will do....and i wasn't screaming i was using my buddy's laptop to upload the pics and his caps locked button is broken and far as my pictures go i want them that big as to see if any one of the specialist's see anything i can't so i aplogize if i offended anyone on this board

What I would do, is post a smaller pic up, and then link to the larger one if you want to. I have found that 800x600 is good enough to get what you need when it comes to help from people on here. All my pics are 800x600 and I was able to solve my problem! If you want look up my thread about my 600.4 blow fuses. I have lots of info that I had to learn to fix mine, and you can see what 800x600 pics look like. Still good detail, but they show up on one screen so there is no scrolling. Scrolling is annoying

the are too complicated for me i'm afraid. all the fets are under the fans too. there is a good chance you will have to take those off.

I am not very knowledgeable with Ti amps, but I am guessing the two cooked resistors are the first ones in the signal path of the RCA input jacks. Finding them cooked like that usually means the amp was overdriven (beat on by its owner).

An overdriven amp also can mean shorted output transistors. If you check all 8 of them, I am sure at least one is bad. If you replace them, you need to at a minimum replace the 2 identical ones in that channel, and more ideally all 4 in that channel. Once done you need to then set the bias correctly so the amp does not idle too high and fail.

Eric, you may not recall, but you replaced those same resistors on a zx400ti I sent you a few years ago. I don't believe any of the output transistors were replaced on mine, but mine would power up and play. It just intermittently emitted what seemed like test tones. Do you remember freezing that little sucker for me? Just thought I'd refresh your memory in case it could help.

Yep. That was the same issue, other than outputs being fried.
