Anybody use a LOC?

I'm looking for a LOC that is actually a quality product. All I've ever been able to find in my area is this POS

What do you use, and most importantly, how do you like it?

Navone makes a decent LOC, but if your headunit has any equalization at all you will need one of the better integration options like the RF 360, JL CleanSweep or Audison BitOne.

biggest thing in using an loc is to tap the signal as close to the source as you can. Most people will get noise if they tap their signal at the rear speakers where it is easier.

I bought one of these N-RHL2 from David Navone. The nice thing about it is that it creates a remote turn on for your amp. Great for a factory radio that does not have a remote out. I have not installed it yet as I am waiting for one more part to come in the mail. Sorry I cannot tell you how well it works yet.

Thanks for the replies. That looks like a pretty good unit, I'll get one and hope it's better than the POS I have now. If not I guess I'll be putting a new HU in, but I hate to lose my steering wheel controls.

they make adaptors for the steering wheel controls if that is all you need. Get a deck with remote control and buy/program the adaptor and it will work the new deck just like the old one.

Thanks for the offer, but I already bought the Navone.

As for the new deck, I've got a Pioneer DEH-7400MP that has a remote, but Crutchfield doesn't go that far back for compatibility with their steering wheel adapters.

I'll start with the LOC, if I don't like it I'll get an adapter that I think will work and hopefully I won't waste my money.

Did you read his posts? He's using the stock deck because there is no adaptor for his steering wheel controls and HU.

Now Paul that isnt a great HU anyways. Get a job and put in something decent you slacker!

the steering wheel adaptors are a programable thingy. The age of your deck should not effect it.

I know. I've had it for a bunch of years and still like it so I figured, if it ain't broke, why replace it?

Your first deck is kinda like your first car, no matter how old or ugly it is, you still love it.
