No one ! They all use power, and you must be able to supply power to make loud music.
The most efficient amps are digital class amps, and right now only Alpine makes anything I even remotely would consider for the high end <mids and tweets>. C

I used 3 Xtant X1.1i or whatever it is. Little 100W Class D full range monoblocks. I ran my Chameleons and subs off them. I thought they did a great job on the components as well as the subs. I even thought it sounded better than the Ti500.4AL I was using previously.
Alto Mobile also makes some nice class D amps that are tiny, efficient, and full range. I havent heard or read any reviews on them....kind of small company I think. THey make some really cool digital processors as well that I have thought about trying before.
Alpine PDX...is that what you were thinking Cecil? I like the idea...and stacking them is kind of neat. I havent heard much about how they sound yet. But I think class D is coming along nicely. In home audio, they have nearly eliminated all the previous disadvantages they had with higher frequencies and there are some real high end amps running class D technology. Jeff Rowland, Bel Canto, Linn, Rotel, among many others.

there are some Audiosource class t amps on e-bay right now, new in the box from the factory for like $269.00 + shipping . seems they never went public because of ROHS standards or something like that 200 Watts per also, Just a FYI for your home needs.
I have heard the PDX amps sound good on the high end, but the bass amps lack balls, so i was just passing along info I picked up along the way

Tom has one of these but his is badged "AmpSeven". I believe they are the same thing as they both have the tri-path chip.1moreamp wrote: there are some Audiosource class t amps on e-bay right now, new in the box from the factory for like $269.00 + shipping . seems they never went public because of ROHS standards or something like that 200 Watts per also, Just a FYI for your home needs.
That thing is powerful, very, VERY powerful, for a normal home stereo.

He's not telling...........

It was a forum hosting discount, but the damn thing had issues so many back and forth shippings later I am glad it is working for him.
No they didn't have a ROHS issue, but they did tend to knock out certain radio frequencies for very large areas, the FCC really did not like this.......
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Maybe I am wrong but the amp designs for the old Carver car amps and old Carver home audio amps and even the Sunfire amps are all digital. They are very efficient. Much like the Class T they play lows and highs without a problem but the Class mad by BoB Carver for the Sunfire is Class G. Look it up. Interesting stuff. Class G is able to get over 2000 watts out of a amp the size of a small candy bar! I think this is the future. Not Class D. Class T and Class G is the future in my opinion
