Hello-
I was recommended this set-up with my local car audio dealer and in all truth this is my first real excursion in car audio but I am quite excited and spending quite a bit of money in my opinion. Anyway here is what I will be getting installed in a few weeks unless I get bad feedback from this forum, as I really value input please let me know. In my opinion upon listening to it I thought it sounded great. Anyway check below.
one---Amp--- SX1200.5
four----Speakers--- TI257PS
one----Sub--- SX110d4
Pioneer---Head unit- Avic 8100nex
all being installed in my ford explorer
thanks for any feedback

the gear is solid enough. if i had one tip for beginner bfowler years ago, it would be sound deadening.Divine_Providence wrote:Hello-

you would be amazing how much midbass you lose in your door just by having holes in your outer doorskin that the ti257 would mount to. anything you can do to separate the front wave and the back wave of the speaker will help a ton. even if that means skipping out on rear speakers for now to get deadener for your front doors, i think you would be much more impressed with the extra sound the front speakers produce

The head unit is great. I have the 8000 (last years model).
Some more details might be useful...is the sub going into a prefab box or a custom built one to specs? What kind of car? Sound damping material would be critical to maximize your speaker performance.

A few of these and a few of those.

More details--
Its being installed in a 2007 explorer
Box for the sub is: E10STV Make is ATrend... The box is not being custom built its prefab.
I'm not familiar with sound dampening and I wasn't planning on adding that maybe I will check and see what kind of cost that would be.
I was planning on getting the 8000nex but ended up ordering the 8100. I appreciate the feedback. What kind of cost do you think would be fair on the install of the sound proofing for at least the front two speakers?

I ended up getting the TI series on everything the 4 5x7's
My 10 inch sub and the amp. I will actually be adding one more sub. And I have to say the 8100nex is awesome I did the motion bypass too. I am really happy with how it turned out. I did quite the overkill but dang man it's so much fun driving anywhere now.
