sapphire sa3.0x manual? 2ohms mono?

Post by marko »

ok, i'm guessing the sa3.0x isn't 2ohms mono stable but has anyone got a pdf of the manual? i just picked one up and want to try it out on an idq10 but the idq is configured to a summed 2ohms (i know i could wire it in series to 8ohms  )

just wondered how the x-over section works, ie- can it run a sub and then fronts with the outputs connected to a second amp etc?

this could make a very simple cheap system for my mgb 8)

If the owners manual download link dosen't work for you then PM me your email address and I'll send you one.

2 ohms bridged won't hurt the SA3.0X but since it has such a small heatsink it will be in thermal protect a lot.

sa3.0x and 2ohm mono

Post by mpgrimes »

I ran this amp at 2ohm mono for years and it worked very well.. yes, it did get warm and shut off. i added a small computer fan on top of it, blowing over the center of the amp and never had it go into thermal shutdown mode after that, this amp with 2 12" subs and a 70 watt amp powering 2 6x9's and 2 1" tweeters power off the deck, i managed to hit 138.5 db in my 82 camaro.
