No thats fine lol.
You have to take your seats out. then pull the carpet up.
I've done this in 2 of my vehicles with only one problem in the 6 years I've done it this way. (Note: In no way, shape, or form am I telling you this is safe, it's just what I've done)
In both of my trucks, I've had a BITCH of a time locating a place in the firewall to run 1/00 AWG wire (that's DOUBLE 0). Instead of running thru the firewall, I routed my wire under the engine compartment and ran the power wire alongside the frame (zip-tied of course). When I came to the back of the cab, i either found a grommet to run it thru, or drilled a new hole (don't forget to add a grommet).
The one time I had a problem with this set up, a zip-tie had come loose and the power wire rubbed the insulation off, and connecting 1/00 AWG wire to frame = FIRE!!!! Luckily, it melted the positive terminal off the battery, shutting the truck off (while driving down I-40). I pulled over, saw the wire was on fire, and ripped it the hell out from under the truck. I reran new wire in the place of the old wire, but this time I added 2x the zip-ties.
Zip ties don't take kindly to vibration. If I runder stuff under the body, I always use metal straps with a rubber insulator to keep it from carving through the sheathing.
