New toys, new toys!!

Well, the man in brown delivered some boxes today. One of them had a new PS3 with some games and accessories in it and the other had a Onyx 1200.1 from Mando! Damn it was a good day, I can't wait to get the 1200.1 up and going!

As far as the PS3 goes well, IT'S AWESOME!! I had to rearrange my whole damn entertainment system to get it in there, but it looks good next to the modded xbox and the Xbox 360! So far I have just played around, but the graphics look great. Also, we just signed up for Netflix and we will be getting Blu-Ray's from them to watch instead of standard dvd's. This is gonna be great!!

Tom, you need a PS3 once GT5 is rockin' the house. It's the only new console that fits you.

Hell, I would have gotten one even for GTA4.... but they discontinued the 80gb version, so they made the 40gb one $100 more expensive instead. That one doesn't even play PS2 games

I'm trying to find a good 60gb on craigslist or something. That one has real PS2 hardware so it doesn't need to emulate like the 80gb does.

They have a few on Amazon........FOR $800!!!!!

Yeah, for that price I'll keep my PS2 instead. I'm not desperate to stuff it all into one console, but it would be "nice to have" feature. Then again, I can probably count the number of times I played PS1 games on my PS2 on one hand... perhaps I wouldn't use the PS3 to play PS2 games at all?

To hell with forking out $400 for a 40gb version that doesn't even include any games either. I like console gaming, but I could buy a cheap gaming PC for nearly the same price. PC games are much easier to pirate as well, so it would even be cheaper in the long run

I have the 80 and haven't had any problems with my PS2 games with the exception of the controllers. I couldn't use my guitar hero or DDR until I got an adapter for the connectors.

Actually I think they have updated some firmware to address that problem. I could be wrong though.

No, they haven't. The hardware emulation was one of the things axed to get the PS3 at it's current price point.

Try posting from a PSP! The same pain in the ass, but smaller print. At least you can get a keyboard for the PS3.

If you aren't a die hard fan of the GT series, I would wait until the Prolouge goes on sale, used or until the full version of GT5 comes out. I've got the Prolouge, it's OK. Anybody guess what my PS3 user name is???

Keep the PS2 Tom. Use it for the other games. Get the 80G if you can find one. It's well worth it.

The games I've got for it are

NASCAR 08
F1
Assasins creed
COD4 and
GT5 Prolouge

I got Assassins Creed, Army of Two, Unreal Tournament 3, Folklore, and Ratchet and Clank. I'm gonna go swap some of my 360 games with a buddy for some PS3 games. We both have both systems now, maybe we need a better hobby!

I think I already know the answer to this question, but can people playing COD4 on the PSN play against people playing COD4 on Live or PC?
