Capacitor Post extension.

Post by bruther »

ALright here is my question,
I bought a PG 1 farad Capacitor. When I used the PG (ZRT 100) compression ring terminals I cannot seem to get 2 of them to screw down for the positive side of the Cap. It seems the posts that screw down into the top of the cap are not long enough to screw 2 ring terminals on. Is there some kind of post extension out there to purchase????

Anyone please help or shed some light on this?
Thanks
Brian

they do make longer screws, but i'm not sure where you would beable to source those from.

your other option is to go with a normal crimp type terminal that is thinner.

I used a set screw. Then lock it down with a jam nut. This will prevent any damage to the treads in the cap. You then can use any lenght screw you want. For a good base you might want to put a washer on before your terminals.
