Reverse phase

You guys told me to rreverse the phase of my subd by swithing the +- wores on the amp. Is that the same as using just the HU. (HU has a Sub Phase Setting). Or does It only really work if i switch the wires.

And if i Switch the wires on the amp, and say i somehow .....
make a mistake, can my subs get damaged in any way or am i just paranoid.

if your h/U has that capabiblty, use it. it will make it mucheasier to hear the difference
