RSDc12 sealed enclosure question

Post by capitolj80 »

ok...so i've finally decided on the rsdc12's!! i've been going in circles for days trying to come to that conclusion...anywho...i want to put them in the PG recomended sealed SQ enclosure, which is 1.17ft3. Now, i know that the regular rsd is said to benefit from a larger enclosure than the text states (1.8 over 1.2), although the difference is minimal. Is there a similar effect for the rsdc, or is that spec a truly solid one? Also, should i expect to hear any difference in low end performance or total response curve between 1.17 and 1.12, cuz it looks like the latter is all im gonna be able to achive...so yeah...ill be running 2 of those off the the rsd1200.1...i expcect this setup to stroke my balls and punch me in the face at the same time!
what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

I personally wouldn't go bigger than 1.5 with the comp woofers. They perform much better in smaller boxes than the vanilla RSDs.

ok..so it looks like im gonna be able to do 1.3cu (net)...seeing as how that's about the most space i wanna give this sub, should i still use a layer of polyfill inside or what?

I have my RSDC124 in a 1.3 (net) volume sealed enclosure with polyfill and it pounds! Bass is tight and has the ability to play the lows without any problems.
