That tech sheet is only necessary when you are trying to keep the stereo signal from the same set of outputs as well. The resistors basically make the stereo signal stay in tact. The left and right channels are tied together after the resistors, so it will have little or no effect on the signal upst...

Thanks for the compliment! I don't think it is worthy, but it is serviceable. I really wish I had made the time for a sweet install, and that was alway my plan, but I just haven't had the time to take the truck down for it since it is my DD. The Bronco will be a different story though, that one will...

Pics as promised. Rewired my ground today, mounted the amp, and threw in the cube, as it really helps cut down on the obnoxiousness. The box is tuned at 39hz. 4x5x10 port. I will probably tune the bronco a bit higher, or I am going to have to incorporate some serious midbass... http://www.rollmeover...

PM sent. I believe we are local (midland, michigan) and I can take a stab at it for ya if you want. Hell, if you are really in a yank to have it up and running, I will trade you my xover card out of my 500.4 and you will be up immediately, I will just fix your board when I have time. Later tater, Ja...

I just got in dude. Cut me some slack. It is pitch dark out right now, had to finish wiring stuff up with a flash light. I will take some pictures, but no making fun of my box. It was coming along okay, looking fairly nice, and then I got to the point where I went to drop the sub in the counter sunk...

Blew one of my OS JL 12's
So, I did what any rational, audio lover would do, and spent the whole day building a 2.9 ft3 box that fits under my rear extended cab seat in my '99 Silverado and dropped in one of my oh so pretty CV Stroker 12D2's. Running it with one PG zx600Ti 'till it's break in period is up, then I may throw m...
More reliable eh? 10 years of service from my ZX-450 without a hitch, cant get much better than that, I'll take the headroom thank you! LOL! I agree. I ran ZX series amps for years before I took a car audio sabbatical... I ran them really hard, a long ways outside of their design expectations, and ...

Simple solution, use a y adapter and just one RCA pick either left or right. It makes very little difference, bass is not very directional, so even if it was recorded in stereo, it is difficult to reproduce as such. I think most decent head units made in the last 7-8 years with pre-amp outputs have ...
I don't know any of this for sure, but here is what I have seen. It appears that the Ti lines were the first PG amps to go to primarily surface mount components (SMD) and they made a big deal out of this, although nearly every electronic device in early 2k started switching to SMD because it allows ...

eclipse AV3423
I just bought one of these on ebay with no brain for $16. Anyone on here an eclipse dealer that can check into getting a brain for it, or know someone selling a broken one? I figured for $16 I couldn't go wrong... It is a 2004 model if that matters. If worse comes to worse, I will see if I can use t...

Quick update, I ordered seperate switches, and more pots and the right modular plugs to put all of these together. I have to redesign the cad work for the board to fit the changes, and I can't tell you for sure when I will have them done, as time is still in short supply for me, but the rest of the ...

No problem at all guys, we are just lucky my wife and kids went out of town for a few days, otherwise I may not have had time to get going on it... Getting married and having kids sucks all of the time right out of your day :D Wouldn't trade it for anything though... I am going to try to PM everyone...

I have to say, it would be bad ass to design a monster amp with these Fets. It has been a while since I looked at the datasheet, but I know that they are rated at 429 Adc each, package limit of 160 Adc though. They are probably a bit to slow for an amplifier though... I hope I never have the bridge ...

Here ya go: http://www.rollmeover.com/bronco_fab/odds_n_ends/30v_12V_ps.jpg 30VDC switch mode PS, this is required to get the gate voltage up high enough above ground for full enhancement. The 30Vdc is also regulated back down to 12Vdc on the same board, the 12Vdc powers other stuff in the circuit. ...

Something like this? It is a mini push on/off SPST switch. With something like this I could likely keep the board the same size, as the small 10K pots have a lot smaller footprint than the switch pot. I can mount these horizontal or vertical. Another option would be a small illuminated toggle, light...

Why do you never have the right mosfet...
Well, I have been working on my Tantrum 1200.1 I bought from Wakeup. All 12 power supply FETs were blown when I opened it up. There was also some significant damage to the traces on the board. I had never seen this much damage in a PG amp. I assumed that the PO that wakeup bought it from hooked up p...

It may be the same value, but it isn't the same pot. I have one here, and it has no switch built in. You would not believe how difficult it is to find a pot with a switch that is independent of pot position, i.e., there are a lot that have a switch at the start of the pots travel, like an old school...

Well, preliminary results are in. Prototype remote is working fine. I ended up doing it single sided as there are only three traces on the top of the board and it is easier to solder jumpers than to setup and mill the top side and have it line up with the bottom. The pros: It works exactly like the ...
