AX204A to the Basscube and then .......

Post by KHPower »

I have been messin ariound with the AX204A for the last few days trying to find the right settings. I am using the AX204A to send a mono signal to the Basscube and then to my amp , some may remember my thread of needing a mono signal. I first opened up the input gains all the way with the bass level fairly high and it pounded the living crap outta my sub but then I realized I was probably doing moe harm then good phisicly and sound wise.

What are everyones thoughts on how I should run the AX204A with a basscube? I was talking to Phil at PG a few weeks ago about using the AX204A for a "monoizing" device and he agreed that it would be the trick.

I just cant seem to find the right levels on the the settings. It seems as if the power from my sub now is very sensitive , almost too sensitive. I use a Pioneer HU and I used to be able to run it at #33 on volume and I would get full uncluddered bass , now it seems I have to crank it to # 40 or so to achive the subs potential. I have bnot messed to much with the amp but all settings are correct on it.

Dont get me wrong the sub makes me wanna puke from the output  litterally! but I think I think the problems are from improper settings on the AX204A , it seems that if I have the input too low I dont get much output.

Any thoughs of how I might go about this? If I take the chips (90 hz) outta the crossover will it still transform my signal to mono?

Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? I even have the cube all the way turned down and it seems way sensitive , I am also running the amp @ 1600 rms to the one 15'' sub(immortal)

Heres what it looks like: HU -AX204A(input @ 3/4 sub @ 1/2) --Basscube--Audiobahn amp ---to the sub.
