Post by shaheen »

Hey dude,

ok I am back in SA and need some help with the Cyclone, I cannot seem to loosen the 2 bolts which hold the plate in place.

Please help , I do not want to strip those screws.

The vanes move easily with hand, should I still open

Ok, looks like I am going to have to open, hooked it up and it sounds like a blown speaker, I am sure this is the sound of debris , however the vanes still move freely

Just woke up; it's early in the morning, Sunday...
Those screws you had trouble loosening mostly are so tight that you risk stripping them for sure when not using the right tool.....
But you managed! :D
So now comes the how-to-get-the-coil-out- part.
Remember to grip the coil in the right places, like shown in the thread; at the welds.
Gently pull with intervals, and as the coil starts coming out, re-position the vice further on the outside of the coil for more grip.
Pulling with intervals prevent you from falling backwards when suddenly the magnetic force is overcome, and you end up with a bump on your head, and a cracked cyclone lying around in the shed...
GOOD LUCK.
[need assistance? ALWAYS PM me.]

Thanks man, I really appriciate it, the magnetic force is quite a bit . I cannnot shift it using the PG method, and to think it's a BNIB cyclone.

Ok coil came out without an issue using the vice method, cleaned up all the particles, did not go the whole hog with laquer but cleaned her up good. hooked up to my dad's old hifi amp , played some full range without a box it seems clean, i am sure once i take out the high freq it should be perfect, will see if I can find a big enough box and enough power to play with
