Im toying with the idea about suspending my MS amps from under my rear deck. I know the PG manual states that it should no be installed that way, but I guess its ok to do it if there are fans present. But I really want to avoid fans as much as possible. So my idea is to mount them underneath the with the sink fins facing down.
Do you guys think its ok? Keep in mind that the sinks will be facing the trunk and its open as much as possible.
Fins down will trap the air in the heatsink, so unless you get the air moving across those fins somehow (fans), then you will have lots of thermal issues.
I know you have the talent to mount them plexi side down, under the shelf.
Well, there is a slight chance that i'll try to mount the amps under the deck with the guts facing down and use a pair of fans to cool them. I just found some quiet 9db 12v computer fans that might work. That would look sick though. But its hard to beat a bunch of fins from underneath the rear deck too

I never used a fan and always beat the last bit out of those amps! If u are using a fan take a 24V DC one! Way more quiet than 12V DC ones!
Its still in the planing stages at the moment. Im guessing I'll need at least 2 (push/pull) 80mm fans. I googled for quiet cpu fans and there are quite a few, but they appear to be pricy though.
I'll still have to make sure if both amps fit under the deck though
