PG RSD passive crossover and RSd series question

Post by bdubs767 »

For any of the PG tech guys lurking around here now a days....

Im assuming the PG rsd passive crossover from the comp set is the same through out the series and not specifically designed for each sized woofer.

Right now I'm running the PG rsd 4" coaxil and Rsd 6.5cs woofer for my front stage, since I finally realized wasting all that money in a car on scans and seas is nearly pointless. So I'm wondering how well the RSd passive would work with the RSd 4" co-axil if I spliced into it and bypassed the cap and inductor on the speaker.

Are there any phase adjustments made with in the passive?

I understand that no "universal" passive is every the best option but im assuming since its a stock passive for the series it should decently work well with the 4" co axil.

Also is the tweeter from the comp set and the tweeter in the co axil the same? I remember some one saying that they were the same when the series was first released.

Hmmm... does anyone have two different sized comp sets? We could do a comparison and figure it out.

Why would the tweets differ from the comp to the coaxial?
Ive got Focal Access comps up front and a set of Polyglass coaxials and the tweets look identical, Im assuming the only difference would be in the crossover for the tweet? What do you guys think?

Looking the same doesnt mean they are the same. The manf. can change many things in the tweeter to cause it to have very different T/S parameters but have it still look the same.

As for the focal tweets I have no idea.
