No, a distribution centre provides delay on/off switching for components within your system. The idea is to have your amps turn on first and turn off last so you don't hear the "pops" when the power to the other devices within your system is switched.

Only the remote lead is connected to the distribution centre for switching power to high current drawing devices like an amplifier. Amplifier power is still distributed directly from your distribution block.

But it does provide fusing for low power devices like an EpiCenter, an active crossover or other processor. 10 amp maximum. In this case, B+, B- and remote are connected to the distribution centre. It also provides a nice clean organized termination point for all your remote leads.

I recommend one, especially if your amps don't delay on or if you are running several external low current processors.

This was the best car audio purchase i ever made. i LOVE it. i have the 10-, which is over kill as all i am powering is H/U, line driver (and soon to come, some neon tubs, possibly a linear actuator, radar detector, and if i get really ambitions a teqp4) and using the remote sections for my 2 amps

i also had my alarm powered off it for a short while, but instantly got altinator whine...

plus it looks sik as hell

that too...but it has a pretty mean turn on pop of its own
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...
