sub wiring help please

Post by Stryker »

hey guys,
so i grabbed a couple of new subs yesterday and they are dual 2 ohm voice coil subs. how can i run these both to my 600ZXTI to present a 2ohm load while having the amp bridged? i did get them heavy MOFO in the box alright, had them wired up like this:one coil was+ to_ on each sub and the other - went to the other subs - and onto the - terminal at the amp. i did the same with the positive terminals as well as far as i knew this would present a 2ohm load. it worked for about 3-4 minutes, i shut it down to go have dinner it sounded LOUD but the subs appeared to be moving the opposite way. and then when i went out later the amp was cycling off and on like it was a 1ohm load or it was putting out too much current????? i'm gonna have to recheck the wiring i did, but i'm sure it was ok....or maybe it wasn't solidly connected. am i wrong to have thought i could use 2 dual 2 ohm VC subs bridged to the 600ZXTI to present it with a 2ohm load??

hola back

hmmm i will rechek tomorrow. i always get racing when it comes to new stuff.  i did do the option #2 maybe one of the wires came loose cause these things shook my car like i've never felt before. dammit i wish i had a garage so i could do it now.

on a separate note it's too bad there isn't a live chat room on this forum.... has anyone ever looked into it?

also make sure the bass boost is turned down...when it is turned up your amp is trying to make more power by drawing more current
