Need help with a website.
Well, me and the old man are venturing out and going to try a new business. With this business we are pretty sure we are going to need a website. I know nothing about doing anything with a website. So, should we hire some local to do it? About how much should it cost? Anyone got any tips, or any advice of any kind??

I have ventured into it a bit and could help with a basic setup, shoot me an email about what you want in detail with pics and what not......
Click See my signature icon....... If I can do it I'll let you know.
Otherwise Tom or Paul would be good resources.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Web pages are living creatures, ESPECIALLY if you are marketing product through them. They must be maintained regularly and need constant attention to be effective. Shitty web pages can lose more business than no web page at all.
Take a course on MS Front Page or other web building software so you can do updates yourself. It's really quite easy once you have the basics. A professional web designer charges professional prices.
Click my www buttton to see what I built. It's in terrible need of updating, but I think the pages are clean and easy to navigate. I have very basic skills in this area.

The easiest way I have found is to use open source. Basically it is free code that you can modify so that you can make it your own. I have done it for 3 sites, and all have turned out pretty well. The sites are http://homepages.wmich.edu~j2cervin and http://www.widsa.com
To check out some open code, I usual.ly go to oswd.org. Let me know if you need any more help with modifying or other things.
