ZPG 100 or ZRT 100 ??

Post by AVICJR »

I have always used the set screw type tightening terminals. I just got these and am having trouble getting them to compress and hold on to the wire. I stripped away exactly the perfect amount of wire to fit inside the hole in the ground terminal and it's not holding after I tighten. Is there a trick or am I just doing it wrong?

if are you talking about the 2 peice kind that screw back on from behind the terminal, you have to strip the wire PAST the gold end piece and bend the wire back over the outside of the fitment, THEN screw it on

Thank you. I didn't realize I had to bend it back around. Jeez I feel stupid.

lol. yep, the hdx style termination is one of the best, but it's not magic! leave about 1/3" protruding thru the gold ring and then fold it back over. just make sure the strands aren't too long or they'll interfere with the threading on the insert.

dont. i did the same damn thing my fist time. in fact it was probibly worse becasue the cable i used was think enough to hold the fitment on, so i didnt notice it wasnt a good conection until it fell out while we were testing the amp
