zx450 fuse

Post by ZX450 »

The fuse blew recently on my zx450 and i replaced it with an 80 amp fuse. Is this ok seeing that (if i remember correctly it had a 120 amp fuse) its a different fuse? what could go wrong or should i just go buy the 120

it depends how you are using it

if its being run in 4 channel @ 4ohm, 80 is fine

i think the 120 is a "worst case scenario" for if you are running it duel bridged

IIRC it's supposed to be a 60. Mine is anyway and I've never had any issues with it.

I agree, I don't think any ZX amp had an 80A fuse, but maybe the ZX500 required an external 80A fuse.

From the manual

Continous Current Draw @ Full Power : 55 amps

Peak Current Draw @ Full Power : 80 amps

Recommended Fuse Size ( Internal ) : 50 amp AGU

Mine always have 60 amp in them OEM

You are correct

ZX250 = 30 amp
ZX350 = 40 amp
ZX450 = 50 amp <---usually find a 60 amp in there though

That would be a trick. The Zx500 was the only Zx to NOT have an internal fuse. :D
