SENDING MONEY PAYPAL....GIFT FOR FREE

Post by mhyde71 »

Sending money and selecting that it is a gift transmission, ends up being free for recipient... just tried/did it yesterday... sent 685 to someone and it was free transmission.

only concern about that, (which I am not sure of, but would bet is the case) is that it wouldn't be stated for what the purchase is for, so no buyer/seller protection for anything ... as it was a gift submission, and not buying anything... so only to be done with ppl you trust....

Damnit, you couldn't have posted this about 3 hours ago? I JUST sent some money to Tom this morning and added a few bucks to cover the fee.

well, not sure about whwether or not it'd be worth it or not... BUT TOM could always go-thru the refund process, and then you simply send again...
I dunno, just throwing out ideas if it saves (someone) some money...might be worth the few key strokes/mouse clicks

I mean, it's $3. Not exactly a big deal. But this is still a good thing to know as I've sent quite a bit of money thru paypal over the years.

And Tom, what's with the dang bird avatars? Get tired of your creepy ass clown?

I like birds. My last name means bird. I occasionally go birdwatching.

The Winter Wren (last avatar) and Chiffchaff are some of my favorites because they remind me of Holland. They are everywhere there... to any natives they would seem like robins or chickadees, but for me, just hearing them makes me feel warm and fuzzy

Right now my avatar is a Kievit (Lapwing), which is a famous bird there. They make the craziest laser beam, whooping, and grinding sounds, and have crazy acrobatic flight. Tripped me the fuck out the first time one zipped over the dunes, chasing away a harrier. And one of the craziest sights I have seen was, at sunset, an endless column of them coasting along the updraft on the northernmost dune of the dutch islands. You could see them all the way down the beach, to the neighboring islands. Surreal.

They are quite famous in Holland as well, with lots of old traditions around them. In Friesland people compete to see who can find their eggs first.

I guess with my trip to Holland only a month away I am getting nostalgic again :P

Pretty gay huh?

My favs are the Blue Jay and the Cardinal. Lucky for me I have one of each around my house. Got a woodpecker around here somewhere too. You can hear him every morning and every night.

I'd only use that PP method for family and most everyone on here. Note though I'm sure there's some sort of monitoring going on through that method. After all it's free.

I would guess something in the lines of how many "gifts" are given to the same accounts.??????

You make the pilgrimage over there every year? That must be pretty expensive.

Well, it's only one paycheck for the flight, and for the most part I stay with my relatives for free. So other than the flight, all I pay for are Amsterdam treats, trains, sightseeing, bike rentals, and eating out. I get 3 weeks vacation pay per year, so I usually break even by the end of the trip. What's the point in working if you can't enjoy your money anyways?

HA! Try making an American believe that! We're frowned upon if we don't skip vacations to work. Or we're expected to work while on vacation

or your expected to not take all your vacation time at once.....just a day here and there......I haven't worked anywhere that will let me take more than 3 days off.....even when I have 31 days of vacation time
