that is what I mean. It is durable stuff, they cover everything from bows to quads like that. In the industrial version they have a tank of water that they lay a sheet of the design on and then simply dip the part that they want to cover into the tank and the design sticks to it.

Same stuff? Just never heard of it do it yerserlf kit.

Well its not - my friend owns the business but otherwise anyone can do it...

Its not that common and is still quite expensive. Would of been $1000 to do all items in the Carbon if I was a retail customer... But doing real Carbon would of been way more!!!!

do you watch orange county choppers? Did you see the Gander Mountain bike? They made a bike for them and they wanted it to be covered in the same cammo material that their compound bows were covered in so they showed a small segment on it. Here is a youtube video that shows a similar methode although this one is really just a decal. The actuall industrial version is a very VERY durable covering that as he said is used in alot of automotive finishes.

You can also paint CF patterns with out too much trouble if you do a video search for it, I plan to paint my DD5 to match my octanes CF paint and it probably could have worked here but his method was probably much easier and more durable....

This is the unit I'm replacing the Blaupunkt IVDM - 7003 indash screen. This was bought bare boned...

These are some of the basic specs:
CPU - x86 family 6 model 14 stepping 8 intel 1.83 GHz core 2 duo
HDD - Laptop 7200 rpm 80 gig
RAM - 2 gig (single)
OPP - XP pro sp2 (bare boned with Nlite) and using Centrafuse.

"Nlite" allows you to modify Windows, so I stripped it bare for faster boot times and using the 7200 rpm HDD it should boot quite fast.

CNET - REVIEW

I've also gotten a basic no frills single din indash screen with a res of 1600 x 1200 so I should be happy with that.

Using also the CNX-P1900 dual output 140 WATT intelligent DC-DC power regulator...

This will be going into my work ute http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/for ... pic=549311 so it should prove to be very interesting...

From there I'll be using a 4.1 or 3.1 Audiocontrol crossover and a Audiocontrol epic 160...

I've decided as I've over 4TB of music and movies I would setup a laptop hot swappable docking port for ease of use. I can then swap drives as needed. Plus jaming a HDD into a hole in my dash would look quite cool!!!
